A Colorful Family Home in Bethesda

Our clients arrived with a traditional Bethesda house and an appetite for color. We worked through the entry, dining room, sitting room, living room, butler's pantry, and the boys' bedrooms above, finessing each into a fuller version of itself. Blue lacquered wainscoting meets grasscloth in the dining room, chartreuse velvet dresses a set of classic chairs, and a dragon print wraps the sitting room in pattern and light. The architecture remains formal while the palette turns expressive, and that tension is precisely the point.
