We are seeking a real creative rockstar (attitude required) in a Designer role. A true go-getter that needs no micro-managing. You must be able to handle a ranging scope of responsibility with each project and be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity. Stuff changes. Constantly. And you'll need to be ok with that. Strong attention to detail and professionalism are required but we can't have someone taking themselves too seriously. If you consider yourself inflexible, don't like to have fun, and laughing at work is your enemy then this won't be a great position for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create or assist in creating design boards and concepts
  • Create or assist in creating project budgets
  • Draft or assist in drafting floor plans
  • Create or assist in creating mood and layout boards
  • Source finish selections and materials
  • Draft or assist in drafting proposals and scope of work
  • Organize and maintain the sample library
  • Additional tasks as assigned

AS ASSIGNED

  • Take field measurements
  • Request and enter custom quotes and bids
  • Prepare for client meetings
  • Assist during installation and photoshoot days; moving furnishings, organization, pack up, and other tasks as needed

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or similar, OR a minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar position
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot when issues arise and see jobs through to the end
  • Proficiency in Sketchup is required; Photoshop and 2020 Kitchen Design software is highly preferred
  • Proficient computer skills; A knowledge of Apple & Google products is required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator, confident in dealing with a wide range of individuals
  • Comfortable with ever-changing needs and ambiguity
  • Ability to lift up to 45lb
  • Must have an active driver’s license and a clean driving record

Lisa & Leroy is an interior design firm that offers a full-service approach to interiors. We work with clients on every aspect of their interiors and have a ton of fun doing it. Want a kitchen remodel? We do that. Looking for draperies and a living room revamp? We do that too.

The Project Manager will work in partnership with our clients, internal team, designers, subcontractors, and vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MATERIALS

  • Manage field team on-hand materials inventory
  • Furnish updated hard copies of applicable construction documents to field personnel
  • Order and organize timely delivery of construction and FFE materials to the job site

PROJECT ASSISTANCE

  • Bidding - complete initial proposals for potential projects. Procure sub-contractor bids
  • Supervision, quality control, and problem-solving – manage projects from inception through completion, including regular site visits, coordination of field personnel, and reviewing the progress of subcontractors and the L&L Field Team. Visit active sites and create daily reports.
  • Coordination of all schedules, trades, and material deliveries – create and maintain project schedules and three-week forecasts to ensure timely delivery of milestones; proactively manage and communicate deviations from schedule to team and subs. Develop contingency plans as necessary. Assist in scheduling field team and subcontractors
    Secure trade, building, and dumpster permits, as assigned.
  • Take-off and procurement - complete project take-offs and ensure materials are ordered and delivered timely for each project.
  • On-site coordinating of the project – monitor construction to determine compliance with plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements, industry standards, safety protocols, and regulations. Schedule job-site trash services.
  • See that projects are handled professionally, timely, and safely – establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships among co-workers, partners, clients, contractors, consultants, municipal officials, etc. Work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Oversee project close-out – including preparation of punch list, securing sign-offs, and final inspections. Coordinate with other team members for proper cleaning, staging (as applicable), and necessary marketing (as applicable). Pay sub-contractors upon completion.
  • Previous experience with Buildertrend, or similar, is preferred.
  • Select Saturdays are expected if the project demands it.
  • Find and vet new vendors and subcontractors

  • Proficiency in Buildertrend or other project management software is preferred

  • Excellent communicator, confident in dealing with a wide range of individuals
